Job Description
Service Staff Maintenance
- 2 openings (2nd shift & 3rd shift)
- Facilities Services GR & Regional Center Grand Rapids, MI (Pew Campus)Full TimeR104835 We have 2 positions available, one is 2nd shift and one is 3rd shift. Please indicate in your cover letter which shift you prefer. 2nd Shift
- Wednesday through Sunday
- 3pm•11:30pm 3rd Shift•Sunday through Thursday•10pm-6:30am
Job Classification & Benefits:
Job Classification and hourly rate: Grade 3, $20.84/hour. With additional .40 per hour shift differential for regular hours worked. Robust benefits package including medical, dental, vision, sick time, vacation, paid holidays, retirement, and tuition coverage. Additional details for Maintenance, Grounds and Service staff benefits.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to read and interpret instructions labels, safety precautions, etc
- Ability to work well with others and to maintain positive customer relations
- Satisfactory work record including favorable attendance record
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision
- Complete lift training and obtain certification, as provided by the University
- Willingness to work off shifts, holidays, and overtime as necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Representative duties: Conference set-ups, furniture movement, general maintenance
- minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, equipment repairs, etc. Receiving and delivery functions, general policing of properties, and other related duties as needed.
- Provide quality customer service to faculty, staff, students, and campus visitors
- Commit to being assigned as an essential employee, who is required to work when other staff are excused
- Use of technology, such as email, smart devices (ex: iPad, iPhone), work order system/programs
- Enforce and support policies established by the Facilities Services leadership
- Attend to Facilities Services related emergencies when necessary
- Attend safety meetings and other related meetings
- Able to lift to fifty (50) pounds and use ladders and lifts.
