Maintenance Technician Job Description The Maintenance Technician supports safe and reliable plant operations by performing primarily electrical maintenance with some mechanical work. This role focuses on troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and working with PLC systems to minimize downtime and ensure consistent production performance. Responsibilities Perform electrical maintenance on industrial equipment, with an emphasis on 480V systems and three-phase power. Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues using PLC systems, schematics, and blueprints to identify root causes and implement effective solutions. Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment to reduce unplanned downtime and extend asset life. Diagnose and resolve issues involving hydraulics, pneumatics, combustion systems, and mechanical components as needed. Use electrical and industrial troubleshooting techniques to quickly identify faults and restore equipment to safe operating condition. Perform maintenance repairs on a variety of industrial machinery and systems, ensuring work meets safety and quality standards. Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical blueprints to plan and execute maintenance tasks. Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage to support accurate maintenance records and future troubleshooting. Collaborate with operations and other maintenance team members to prioritize work and support continuous production. Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working on electrical and mechanical systems. Essential Skills Strong electrical maintenance ability with experience working on systems up to 480V. Hands-on PLC troubleshooting experience in an industrial environment. Proficiency in preventive maintenance practices for industrial equipment. Experience with electrical troubleshooting, including three-phase systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints. Experience in industrial maintenance repair, including both electrical and mechanical components. Solid understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, combustion, and mechanical maintenance principles. Comfort working in a role that is approximately 80% electrical and 20% mechanical. Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues efficiently. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with hydraulic systems in an industrial setting. Experience working with pneumatic systems and related components. Familiarity with industrial environments and production equipment. Ability to adapt to changing schedules and shift patterns as needed. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in an industrial facility with a strong focus on electrical maintenance work. The position primarily operates on a night shift schedule from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with a planned transition to 12-hour shifts. The schedule follows a rotating pattern of two days on and three days off, then three days on and two days off, requiring flexibility to support shift changes. The environment involves working around industrial machinery, electrical systems up to 480V, PLC-controlled equipment, and mechanical components such as hydraulics and pneumatics. Technicians work on the production floor and in maintenance areas, following all safety procedures and using appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the facility. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Cassopolis, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $74880.00 - $83200.00/yr.
