Position Overview of the

Robotic Maintenance Technician:

Seeking a Robotic Maintenance Technician for multiple shifts to support a high-volume, fast-paced automotive manufacturing facility focused primarily on welded assembly operations. This role is heavily robotics-focused, with approximately 90% of the plant's robots being FANUC, along with some Motoman equipment. The robots are primarily used for pick-and-place and spot-welding applications, including feeder robots and welding robots. This is a hands-on maintenance role focused on robot troubleshooting and repair, along with general maintenance and preventative maintenance. Technicians will be responsible for troubleshooting robotic cells and helping return equipment to operation when a cell goes down. Position Responsibilities of the

Robotic Maintenance Technician:

• Responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of machinery, equipment, facilities, and electrical systems in a welded assembly manufacturing plant.
• Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
• Installs and repairs electrical apparatus up to 480 VAC, such as transformers, wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
• Repairs automated machinery and equipment, primarily FANUC robots, along with some Motoman equipment.
• Troubleshoots and repairs welding robots and robotic cells, including pick-and-place and spot-welding applications.
• Troubleshoots Allen-Bradley PLCs and controls to help return robotic cells and equipment to operation.
• Performs both preventative maintenance and breakdown troubleshooting on production equipment.
• Troubleshoots and maintains conveyor systems used to move parts in and out of robotic cells.
• Discusses machine operation variations with supervisors, operators, and other maintenance workers to diagnose problems and determine appropriate repairs.
• Defines problems, collects data, establishes facts, and recommends solutions to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.

Position Requirements of the

Robotic Maintenance Technician:

• FANUC robotic troubleshooting and repair experience required.
• Welding robotics experience required.
• Previous industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred; a few years of experience is ideal.
• Allen-Bradley PLC troubleshooting experience preferred. Candidates should be able to troubleshoot PLC-controlled robotic cells and help return equipment to operation.
• Experience with Motoman robots is a plus.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting experience preferred; extensive electrical experience is not required.
• Automotive manufacturing experience is preferred but not required. Candidates from other manufacturing environments with strong robotics and maintenance experience will be considered.
• Millwright experience is a plus.
• Trade school certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, Millwright, Industrial Mechanics, or a related field preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Journeyman's Card preferred, but not required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, blueprints, and technical documents.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and recommend solutions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively with production and maintenance personnel.
• Ability to work assigned shifts and occasional weekends as needed.
