$19.75/hour Position Overview We are looking for a dependable, hands-on Facilities Maintenance Technician to help maintain, repair, and improve school buildings and facilities at Novi Community Schools . This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in keeping buildings safe, functional, and well maintained. The ideal candidate has experience with general building maintenance and is comfortable troubleshooting problems, completing repairs, performing preventative maintenance, and working both indoors and outdoors. Key Responsibilities Climbing ladders for maintenance tasks Lawn care and snow removal as needed Ceiling tile and light fixture replacement Basic painting and drywall repair skills HVAC system upkeep including filter changes and motor maintenance General equipment maintenance and repair Routine housekeeping duties and other assigned tasks What We're Looking For Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, property maintenance, construction, or a related skilled trade. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and general building repairs. Ability to safely use common hand and power tools. Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance needs. Dependable attendance and strong attention to detail. Professional communication skills and a customer-service mindset. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials as required. School, commercial, apartment, property, manufacturing, or similar facilities experience is a plus. Why Join Us?
