Full-time About the Position We are seeking a dependable and hands-on Apartment Maintenance Technician to join the maintenance team at a 250-unit apartment and townhome community in Rochester Hills. The ideal candidate has previous experience in apartment maintenance, property maintenance, building repairs, or a related skilled trade. This position is responsible for completing resident work orders, preparing apartments for new move-ins, maintaining building systems, and helping keep the community safe, clean, and well-maintained. Key Responsibilities Complete resident service requests and maintenance work orders promptly and professionally. Perform apartment make-readies, including general repairs and turnover maintenance. Troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing issues, such as clogged drains, leaking faucets, running toilets, and minor pipe repairs. Complete basic electrical repairs, including replacing outlets, switches, light fixtures, and breakers when qualified. Troubleshoot and repair appliances, including refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers, washers, and dryers. Perform drywall repairs, painting, caulking, carpentry, flooring repairs, and other general building maintenance. Assist with heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning maintenance and troubleshooting. Perform preventative maintenance throughout apartments, buildings, and common areas. Inspect apartments, mechanical areas, grounds, and building systems for needed repairs or safety concerns. Maintain hallways, entryways, amenities, grounds, and other common areas. Respond to maintenance emergencies and prioritize urgent service requests. Follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area. Interact courteously and professionally with residents, vendors, and team members. Qualifications Previous experience in apartment maintenance, property maintenance, building maintenance, or general repairs is required. Experience with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, drywall, painting, or carpentry is preferred. Ability to diagnose problems and complete repairs safely and efficiently. Strong customer service and communication skills. Reliable attendance and the ability to work independently. Ability to prioritize multiple work orders in a timely manner. Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors, including in mechanical rooms, apartments, common areas, and on the property grounds. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull maintenance-related materials and equipment. Ability to safely use basic hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment. Valid driver's license may be required.
