Hampton Inn & Suites Okemos is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Maintenance Technician. Key Responsibilities:
Report directly to the General Manager and collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure efficient operations. Conduct thorough surveys of buildings to identify and repair mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Perform maintenance on electrical systems, including replacing light bulbs and sockets, cleaning and repairing circuit breaker panels, and addressing electrical issues promptly. Assist in the installation and maintenance of ventilation, refrigeration, and other systems, demonstrating proficiency in troubleshooting and repair. Ensure optimal functionality of heating and plumbing systems, conducting routine inspections and promptly addressing any issues. Inspect and maintain alarm systems, including fire and protection systems, and coordinate repairs as needed. Utilize manual repair skills to fix locks, replace windows, and perform various maintenance tasks. Execute pest control activities, such as spraying insecticide, to maintain a clean and comfortable environment. Conduct general upkeep procedures, including landscaping, painting, carpentry, and other assigned tasks. Assist in budget preparation and ensure adherence to allocated funds. Oversee the maintenance of grounds, including parking lot sweeping, trash removal, and interior cleaning.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience as a maintenance technician, showcasing a track record of excellence in previous roles. Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other relevant systems, enabling efficient troubleshooting and repairs. Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods, coupled with a keen eye for detail. Familiarity with tools, common appliances, and devices used in maintenance work. Strong manual dexterity and problem-solving skills, allowing for effective resolution of maintenance issues. Good physical condition and strength, with a willingness to work overtime as needed. High school diploma or equivalent; possessing a Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology, or a relevant field will be considered a plus.
