POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment. This role ensures optimal mechanical system performance to minimize downtime and uphold production standards. Additionally, it involves conducting preventative maintenance on all machines and equipment to ensure long-term operational efficiency.
Job Responsibilities:
Machinery & Equipment Perform troubleshooting, repair, installation, dismantling, relocation, and maintenance of industrial machinery and production equipment. Diagnose mechanical, electrical/electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and complete repairs to minimize production downtime. Interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and equipment manuals. Use machine tools, welding/cutting equipment, hoisting devices, forklifts, scissor lifts, and overhead cranes as required and authorized. Fabricate or modify parts and components as required for equipment maintenance and repair. Complete assigned maintenance work orders and provide timely support to production operations. Preventive Maintenance Perform and coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance for facility systems, industrial machinery, and material-handling equipment including routine inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and other scheduled maintenance. Coordinate required inspections and service contracts for HVAC, fire protection, security systems, forklifts, cranes, scissor lifts, and other facility and industrial equipment. Monitor maintenance parts and supplies and identify replenishment requirements. Maintain accurate maintenance, repair, inspection, work order, and parts records Communicate equipment issues, corrective actions, and ongoing maintenance requirements to relevant teams. Work closely with production to improve equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and identify opportunities for process and equipment improvement.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Perform all work in accordance with applicable health and safety legislation, MOSHA requirements, company policies, and established safe-work procedures. Follow required safety protocols when working with machinery, electrical systems, lifting equipment, and other facility or production equipment.
Other:
Perform general housekeeping duties. Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Diploma or certificate in Industrial Mechanics, Millwrighting, Electrical, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong electrical troubleshooting skills with hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing industrial electrical systems, machinery, and equipment. Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals. Experience troubleshooting electrical components such as motors, sensors, switches, relays, contactors, and related control components. Knowledge of PLCs, industrial controls, VFDs, and CNC control systems is an asset. Proficiency in the use of electrical diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, and other maintenance equipment. Welding and fabrication experience, including MIG and/or TIG welding is an asset. Forklift and scissor lift certification, or ability to obtain required certification. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requirements. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with production, contractors, and other departments. Effective verbal and written communication skills and basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of applicable industrial health and safety practices and requirements. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs., standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing ladders, and working in confined or restricted spaces as required.
