Job Description

Facilities Maintenance Technician Midwest Bus Parts/Quality Bus & Truck Parts 575 Humboldt Drive, Big Lake, MN 55309 Part-time, 20-25 hours per week
Role Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving building systems, equipment, and facility infrastructure to ensure safe and efficient operations at both Midwest Bus Parts and Quality Bus & Truck Parts. Core Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building equipment and systems Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical issues Clean and maintain building interiors, including offices, hallways, restrooms, break rooms, and common areas Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize floors, surfaces, and fixtures Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly Restock restroom and cleaning supplies as needed Conduct minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs, unclogging drains, and fixing basic equipment issues Complete building cosmetic work including painting and upgrades as needed Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repair calls Operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely Complete work orders and document maintenance activities Maintain exterior areas including lawncare, landscaping, sidewalks, parking lots, and snow removal as needed Coordinate with contractors and vendors when necessary Maintain clean and organized maintenance areas Ensure compliance with OSHA, safety, and building regulations Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Technical training or trade school preferred 2+ years of maintenance or facilities experience preferred Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Valid driver's license required Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to stand, bend, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
