POSITION SUMMARY

In this position reporting to the Facility and Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for repairs, along with general and preventative maintenance of machines in the plant. In this position you may be required to support other areas of the plant as needed.

AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

Working knowledge of urethane machine, lathe, milling machine, drill press, saw, press brake, and shear operation. Working knowledge of hydraulics and motor circuitry. Ability to trace and diagnose problems using schematic drawings. Familiarity with electrical and hydraulic components and wiring/piping methods. Performs operations and uses the tools of several trades, such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc. Examines machines and equipment to diagnose troubles; dismantles machines; replaces defective parts; and reassembles and adjusts machines to ensure safe and efficient operation. Performs routine and non-routine preventative maintenance functions as directed by schedule or the Maintenance Supervisor. Runs 'errands' which may involve mail pick-up or delivery, parts or materials requisitions, and other miscellaneous off-site pick-ups and/or deliveries. Sets a good example of personal integrity as a Tandem representative in the community. As a member of the Maintenance Team it may be necessary to support other department activities as needed & fill in for absences or vacations. Respond to maintenance off-hours service calls. Accepts other duties and assumes other responsibilities as assigned or as need becomes apparent.

SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING/EXPERIENCES REQUIRED

Welding skills (MIG) and oxy-acetylene cutting and heating Mechanical background Industrial Maintenance background preferred

Continued exposures to low levels of chemical fumes and exhausts Lift up to 50 lbs Bending, twisting, kneeling Extended periods of walking or standing
