Job Title:
Maintenance Mechanic Job Description Join a second-shift maintenance team as a Maintenance Mechanic focused on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining automated manufacturing equipment and both electrical and mechanical systems. In this role, you will spend approximately half of your time performing preventative maintenance, about one-third troubleshooting and executing high-level repairs, and the remaining time supporting project-based work to improve equipment reliability and facility operations. Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on automated manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Troubleshoot and repair automated equipment, identifying root causes of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and related issues. Diagnose and repair electrical subsystems, including PLC-controlled systems, 480V circuits, and components using electrical schematics. Maintain and repair 3-phase motors, pneumatics, conveyors, and facility tools to ensure safe and efficient operation. Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics to support accurate troubleshooting and repairs. Support project-based maintenance work, including upgrades, modifications, and continuous improvement initiatives on equipment and systems. Perform light facilities maintenance tasks as needed to support overall plant operations. Use welding skills, when applicable, to support repairs or fabrication related to maintenance tasks. Work independently to prioritize tasks, respond to maintenance requests, and complete work orders in a timely manner. Document maintenance activities, repairs, and findings accurately to support ongoing maintenance planning and equipment reliability. Essential Skills 3+ years of relevant experience as a maintenance mechanic, maintenance technician, or in a similar industrial maintenance role. Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing automated manufacturing equipment. Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including experience with PLC systems and 480V electrical circuits. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics for diagnostics and repair. Experience working with 3-phase motors and related electrical components. Proficiency with pneumatics, including troubleshooting and repairing pneumatic systems. Mechanical aptitude for maintaining and repairing conveyors, facility tools, and other mechanical systems. Experience performing preventative maintenance on industrial equipment. Ability to work independently and manage day-to-day maintenance tasks with minimal supervision. PLC troubleshooting experience (Required). Additional Skills & Qualifications Technical degree in a related field (Preferred). Welding experience (Nice to Have). Experience with hydraulics in an industrial setting. Familiarity with reading and following maintenance procedures and safety guidelines. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail when diagnosing complex equipment issues. Ability to support project-based maintenance work and continuous improvement initiatives. Work Environment This role operates in a manufacturing environment focused on automated equipment and industrial machinery. The schedule follows a Monday-Thursday shift from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM, providing a consistent four-day workweek. You will work around electrical systems, 3-phase motors, pneumatics, conveyors, and facility tools, using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools to perform maintenance tasks. The setting requires adherence to safety procedures and use of appropriate personal protective equipment while working on or around energized equipment and moving machinery. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Lino Lakes, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $37.00/hr.
