Job Description

Find your calling at Mercy! The Floor Technician is responsible for the maintenance of all types of floor surfaces, wall, and upholstered furniture.

This position also may be required to perform all the tasks of Housekeeper, and other duties as assigned.

Analytical skills necessary to evaluate and resolve housekeeping issues. Demonstrated ability in verbal and written communication. Demonstrated understanding of assigned areas, necessary supplies and equipment. Knowledge of cleaning procedures and infection control standards; cleaning equipment use; proper care procedures for various types of floors, carpets, fabrics and wall covering. Ability to lift and carry heavy and bulky objects. Ability to work rapidly and correctly on tasks requiring physical strength and stamina. Ability to operate various types of floor care equipment.
Preferred Education:
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Preferred Licensure:
Preferred Experience:
One to two years experience
Preferred Certifications:
Gloss Tek certification
Preferred Other:
Physical Requirements:
  • Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
