Job Description
Service Specialists is recruiting for a leading food manufacturing company seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join its maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled industrial maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment, minimizing downtime, and contributing to a fast-paced manufacturing operation. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and improving the reliability of production equipment, utilities, and facility systems. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment, conveyors, packaging systems, motors, pumps, gearboxes, compressors, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems. Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities on manufacturing equipment and facility systems. Troubleshoot motor controls, sensors, VFDs, relays, and basic PLC-controlled equipment. Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and process schematics. Perform welding, fabrication, machining, and equipment modifications as needed. Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability. Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders within the plant maintenance system. Ensure compliance with all food safety, GMP, OSHA, and company safety standards. Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to support operational goals. Qualifications Required 7+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong troubleshooting skills involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Experience repairing and maintaining pumps, motors, conveyors, gear reducers, bearings, valves, and production equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals. Experience using precision measuring tools, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication tools. Ability to work in varying plant environments, including refrigerated areas, elevated platforms, and production areas. Preferred Food manufacturing, beverage, poultry, protein processing, packaging, or consumer products manufacturing experience. Technical degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, Automation, or a related field. Experience troubleshooting Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar PLC systems. Knowledge of VFDs, servo motors, automated packaging equipment, robotics, or process controls. CMMS experience (SAP, Maximo, MP2, Maintenance Connection, etc.). Welding and fabrication experience.
