Maco Management is a property management company committed to providing quality living for our tenants. We are seeking a reliable and skilled Handyman/Maintenance Technician to join our team and contribute to the upkeep and functionality of our properties.
Job Summary:
The Handyman/Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance, repair, and upkeep tasks across our apartments. This role requires a versatile individual with strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and efficiently under the direction of a Property Manager. The ideal candidate will be proactive, possess a strong work ethic, and be dedicated to ensuring our properties are safe, well-maintained, and presentable.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance tasks including but not limited to: Minor plumbing repairs (e.g., fixing leaks, unclogging drains) Basic electrical work (e.g., replacing light fixtures, outlets, switches) Painting and drywall repair Carpentry work (e.g., fixing doors, windows, cabinets) Appliance troubleshooting and minor repairs General building repairs and upkeep Respond promptly and efficiently to tenant maintenance requests. Conduct regular property inspections to identify potential maintenance issues and address them proactively. Prepare vacant units for new tenants, including cleaning, repairs, and ensuring all systems are functioning properly. Maintain grounds and common areas, including light landscaping, snow removal (as needed), and ensuring cleanliness. Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or maintenance work when necessary. Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each task. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures. Assist with other tasks as assigned by the Property Manager.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a handyman, maintenance technician, or similar role. Solid understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques. Proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting. Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose maintenance issues effectively. Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and perform physical tasks. Basic computer skills for communication and record-keeping.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification or training in a relevant trade (e.g., plumbing, electrical). Experience in property management maintenance. Familiarity with local building codes and safety regulations.
Compensation:
Pay will be based on the candidate's experience, skills, and demonstrated abilities. A competitive hourly rate will be offered.
