Job Description

Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center (NWMRMC) is seeking a dedicated Environmental Services (EVS) Floor Tech to join our Environmental Services team. In this essential role, you will help maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of our healthcare environment through specialized floor care and environmental services support. Your work directly contributes to infection prevention, patient satisfaction, and creating a positive experience for patients, visitors, and staff.

Requirements Key Responsibilities:
Perform floor care services including stripping, waxing, buffing, burnishing, scrubbing, polishing, and refinishing of hard floor surfaces Maintain carpeted areas through extraction, spot cleaning, shampooing, and routine maintenance procedures Clean and maintain patient care areas, hallways, waiting areas, offices, and public spaces according to hospital standards Operate and maintain floor care and housekeeping equipment safely and efficiently Follow infection prevention and environmental cleaning protocols to support patient safety initiatives Monitor floor conditions and respond promptly to spills and environmental hazards Move furniture and equipment as needed to complete floor care assignments Maintain adequate inventory of cleaning chemicals and floor care supplies Identify and report equipment malfunctions, repair needs, and safety concerns Ensure compliance with OSHA, hospital safety guidelines, and PPE requirements Support Environmental Services department operations and other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Previous floor care, housekeeping, environmental services, custodial, or janitorial experience preferred Experience operating commercial floor equipment strongly preferred Knowledge of floor maintenance chemicals and cleaning techniques preferred Ability to work independently and as part of a team
