Rotating Shifts including Weekends and Holidays 2
Openings Available:
36 hours per pay period (0.45FTE) 12 Hour Shifts 60 hours per pay period (0.75FTE) 12 Hour Shifts Job Summary Provides surgical and patient-care support throughout the Women & Children's Unit. Assists surgeons and nursing staff with operative procedures and vaginal deliveries, prepares the operating suite, maintains surgical instruments and supplies, and performs nursing assistant and clerical duties under the direction of the Charge Nurse. Key Responsibilities Assist with surgical procedures and vaginal deliveries. Prepare operating rooms, instruments, equipment, and supplies. Clean, inspect, and prepare surgical instruments for Sterile Processing. Monitor surgical supply PAR levels. Handle medications under the supervision of the surgeon or nurse. Obtain vital signs, height, and weight; assist with feeding and activities of daily living. Assist with patient preparation, positioning, transportation, transfers, and discharge. Transcribe and fax orders and maintain accurate records. Assist nursing staff as directed. Participate in staff meetings, performance improvement, and required education. Qualifications One year of Operating Room experience preferred. One year of hospital experience preferred. High School Diploma/GED preferred. Associate Degree in Surgical Technology strongly preferred for candidates with less than two years of experience. Operating Room Technician certification preferred. Current BCLS certification required. Skills & Abillities Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Compassionate, non-judgmental approach to patient care. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Flexible and receptive to feedback and changing assignments. Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
