Industrial Maintenance Technician

The Mundy Companies, a leader in the industrial maintenance, services, and construction fields, is currently hiring for the following for a long-term position in Castle Hayne, NC. We are looking for a thorough Maintenance Technician to undertake the responsibility to preserve the good condition and functionality of plant systems. A Maintenance Technician is a professional with a practical mind and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines. The goal is to maintain plant systems and common areas in the best possible condition. Maintenance Technician Responsibilities Measure designated material, equipment parts and metal stock. Read and work from blueprints, diagrams and detailed sketches, make field measurements and sketches. Replace, align and tension belt drives and chain drives. Adjust and align shafts and couplings. Service and repair fans, blowers and cam mechanisms. Remove, inspect and replace gears. Remove and replace bearings oil seals and mechanical seals. Remove, overhaul and reinstall all related pumps and valves, steam traps and strainers. Remove, repair and reinstall sped reducers and variable speed drives. Remove, overhaul and reinstall hydraulic motors, rotary actuators and directional control valves. Maintenance Technician Skills Proven experience as maintenance technician Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods Working knowledge of tools, common plant systems and devices Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime High school diploma or equivalent; relevant field will be a plus Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) is desired but not required

Physical Demands:

May include working in extreme hot or cold weather conditions. May require bending, stooping, working in cramped and/or uncomfortable positions. May include climbing ladders, catwalks, and scaffolding. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing is required. All qualified applicants must possess the ability to pass a criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen and other pre-qualifications as required.
