Full Job Description SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production equipment, facility systems, and support equipment in a fast-paced cut-and-sew manufacturing environment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring equipment reliability, product quality, workplace safety, and operational efficiency. The Maintenance Mechanic must work in accordance with ISO standards, company policies, and applicable safety regulations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on sewing machines, cutting equipment, material handling systems, compressors, and other production machinery. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues and implement timely repairs. Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facility systems to identify potential problems and minimize downtime. Maintain maintenance records, work orders, equipment logs, and documentation required by ISO quality management systems. Assist with installation, modification, and relocation of production equipment. Collaborate with production supervisors and operators to address equipment performance concerns and improve manufacturing processes. Ensure all machinery guards, safety devices, and emergency systems are functioning properly. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and equipment reliability. Maintain general building maintenance as needed. Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to equipment failures and quality concerns. Follow lockout/tagout procedures and other safety requirements during maintenance activities. Work effectively and respectfully with employees of diverse abilities, including blind and visually impaired team members. Assist in developing and implementing workplace accommodations and equipment modifications that support accessibility and safe operations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance work area.

QUALIFICATION
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

(equivalent education/and or experience may be substituted) High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical training in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, electrical systems, or related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; textile, apparel, cut-and-sew, or industrial sewing operations preferred. Knowledge of industrial sewing machines, cutting equipment, conveyors, and related production equipment helpful. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment drawings. Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs. Understanding of ISO quality management principles and documentation requirements. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills. Good computer skills. Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization. Commitment to workplace safety and inclusion.
