Job Summary The Maintenance Technician ensures the reliable operation of machinery and equipment to support production and plant operations and assist in minimizing downtime. This role is responsible for performing timely and efficient maintenance and repairs, including troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, while maintaining a strong focus on food safety, personal safety, and quality standards. This posting is for a 12 hour shift with typical shift from 5:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday-Saturday. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Allergen Exposure Notice This position operates in a food manufacturing facility that exclusively processes peanuts and tree nuts. Employees must be able to safely and effectively perform work within this environment, while adhering to all safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices, and food safety standards. Exposure to airborne and contact allergens is unavoidable. Primary Resposibilities Perform routine and preventative maintenance of production machinery, equipment, and facility systems to ensure reliable and uninterrupted operations. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, low-voltage systems, PLCs, and pneumatic issues with production equipment in a timely and efficient manner without compromising personnel or food safety. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production issues to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules. Completes maintenance and repair activities in compliance with food safety, GMP, and personal safety standards. Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential issues and recommend corrective or preventive actions. Follows preventive maintenance schedules and utilizes downtime to inspect, adjust, and replace parts to prevent breakdowns and prolong equipment lifespan. Document maintenance activities, repairs, and maintenance related production issues as required by Maintenance Manager and company policies. Maintains tools, spare parts, and work area in a clean, organized and safe manner. Communicate with the Maintenance Manager regarding needed parts, tools, and supplies. Collaborates with production, quality, and sanitation teams to ensure equipment is maintained in food-safe conditions. Assist with installation, setup, and modification of machinery and equipment as needed. Support continuous improvement efforts related to equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety. Company Policy and Food Safety Take part in annual training of employees as defined in training program. Communicates any Food Quality, Food Safety, or Personnel Safety issue to Management Team and/or Food Safety Team. Adherence to all company and departmental policies and procedures, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Safety policies. Perform other duties as assigned by Operations Manager, Maintenance Manager, and QA Manager. Education and/or Experience High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Must have at least 3 years of experience in mechanics, maintenance, or machinery work. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment or in a manufacturing maintenance role is preferred but not required.

Strong knowledge of maintenance operations and equipment repair with the ability to operate and repair equipment in a safe and efficient manner while following company safety policies. Ability to operate various tools, equipment, and machinery. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair production equipment efficiently. Strong safety mindset with ability to consistently adhere to company safety protocols. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Forklift Certification (ability to obtain within 60 days of employment) Work Environment The primary work environment includes exposure to food allergens, including peanuts and tree nuts, as well as other potential irritants such as spices. Employees must be able to work safely in an environment where airborne and contact exposure to peanuts and tree nuts is unavoidable. The primary work environment is a production floor setting, where temperatures may vary from hot to cold based on seasonal changes and operational conditions. Employees may be exposed to moderate-to-high noise levels, humidity, and other typical environmental factors of a production facility. Required Physical Demands Ability to perform physical activities such as standing, walking, crouching, bending, reaching, and lifting as necessary throughout a 12-hour shift. Continuous standing in one location for long periods (2-3 hours before break). Must be able to lift at least 55 lbs., repeatedly. Climbing ladders and stairs to access elevated work areas. Ability to walk and stand in slippery environments (oil, water, slurry, ingredients). Must be able to safely operate production equipment including forklift, bailer, chain hoist, mixer, conveyors, elevators, roasters and other equipment commonly found in food manufacturing facility.
