WORK WEEK SCHEDULE
Monday-Friday 6am-3pm Position is not available for a Hybrid Telework workweek
POSITION PURPOSE
Manages and processes departmental budget activities including but not limited to processing purchase orders, invoices, department payroll, purchasing credit cards, supply warehouse orders, entering computerized maintenance management system data, and other related activities as assigned. Ensures compliance with Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) reporting standards and deadlines and provides departmental administrative support, as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND
ABILITIES
(KSAs) Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Google Apps; Excellent customer service skills; Effective time management skills; Critical thinking and problem solving skills; Ability to serve as a liaison between Vendors, departments, and maintenance staff; Ability to complete complex tasks and minimize errors with attention to detail; Ability to work independently without close supervision; Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff, external agencies, and the public.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent; Three years of experience in a business field.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
None
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working in payroll, auditing, data analysis, or business reporting; Experience using Oracle business applications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Processes payroll for Energy and Physical Plant staff and ensures accuracy for time sheets and leave request; Performs budget and accounting work by keeping accurate and current budget records; Ensures complete and accurate data capture and reporting; Oversees and manages office supply inventory and orders supplies, as necessary. Performs a variety of general office duties to support the activities of the Energy and Physical Plant department including receiving telephone calls, maintaining and updating records, preparing documents, and providing effective customer service. Attends and participates in team meetings and activities. Performs other related duties, as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers. The position, at times, must be able to come into direct contact with school system staff and staff members of external funding agencies, and the community. Work is considered light physical work, requiring the exertion of up to ten pounds of force.
