Job Summary:
This position does general maintenance repair work that includes both electrical and mechanical. Performs basic diagnostic tests, evaluates equipment performance, cleans and lubricates machinery and performs equipment repairs and maintenance.Essential Functions:
Understands and follows all company safety policies and procedures. Performs and documents pre-shift inspection of equipment as required. Does diagnostic and troubleshooting to determine source of error codes, electrical or mechanical issues. Dismantles machines and remove parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists. Reassembles machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work in accordance with manufacturer requirements. Starts machines and observes mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems. Inspects or tests damaged machine parts and mark defective areas or advises supervisor of repair needs. Lubricates or applies adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures. Installs, replaces, or changes machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications. Records production, repair, and machine maintenance information. Reads work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance. Sets up and operates machines, and adjust controls to regulate operations. Collaborates with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment. Maintains equipment files and orders spare-parts inventory on service center equipment and work effectively with operations to implement a preventive maintenance program to improve equipment uptime (or reliability) May occasionally drive company motor vehicle (non-DOT) for local pick-up for parts Performs other related duties as assigned or requestedJob Requirements:
Must have Vocational/Trade School education in electrical/mechanical work or Journey-level experience equivalent Basic measuring skills to read and convert English and Metric systems Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions Experience on overhead crane operation and maintenance Requires a competent technical aptitude, demonstrated manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination Position requires availability for emergency call-outs to come in and repair equipment as needed in the evenings and/or weekends Minimum 2 years experience in general maintenance repair work that includes electrical and mechanical.Competencies:

In a typical workday employee is standing, walking, seeing, hearing, grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, climbing, including climbing using scissors-lift to repair and/or maintain equipment at heights up to forty (40') ft off the ground and reaching out to three (3) ft and up to three (3)ft, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, lifting parts weighing up to forty (40) lbs. manually or by crane or forklift for repairing and or replacing equipment.Working Conditions:
Employee will work in an open warehouse the majority (98%) of the time and will be exposed to some or all of the following working conditions: Extreme Heat & Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes and Metallic Particles. Employee will be exposed to the hazards of working with heavy machinery. Employee is required to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves and steel toed boots with metatarsals.
