A Building and General Maintenance Technician performs building maintenance and appliance repairs for an apartment complex, housing division, residential center or business, as directed by a property manager.

Key Responsibilities:
Oxygen Setup:
Safely deliver, set up, and instruct patients on the proper use of oxygen concentrators, cylinders, and related respiratory equipment in strict accordance with safety and compliance guidelines.
Equipment Repair:
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair manual wheelchairs, power mobility scooters, and complex rehab chairs.
Stair Lift Installation:
Safely measure, install, and test residential stair lifts according to manufacturer specifications and safety guidelines.
Delivery & Patient Education:
Deliver equipment to patients' homes, assemble products, and provide clear, patient-friendly instructions on safe operation.
Customer Service:
Act as the face of the company in the field. Treat all patients, families, and caregivers with the utmost empathy, patience, and respect, ensuring they feel comfortable and confident using their equipment.
Inventory & Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of parts used, repairs completed, oxygen lot numbers, and equipment safety checks. Keep the repair shop and delivery vehicles organized and stocked.
Required Qualifications:
Impeccable Driving Record:
Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). Safe driving is non-negotiable as you will be operating a company vehicle daily.
Customer Service Excellence:
Proven track record of delivering outstanding customer service. Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate technical information simply to seniors and individuals with disabilities.
Oxygen Knowledge:
Prior experience handling, setting up, or maintaining home oxygen equipment and concentrators, with a strong understanding of oxygen safety protocols.
Mechanical Aptitude:
Proven experience using hand and power tools, with the ability to read technical manuals and troubleshoot mechanical or electrical issues.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, push, and pull 50+ lbs safely. The job requires bending, kneeling, and working in tight spaces during home installations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) industry. Manufacturer certifications for power mobility chairs (e.g., Pride, Permobil) or stair lifts (e.g., Harmar, Bruno).
