Job Openings Maintenance Technician Administrative Services
  • Norfolk, Nebraska Northeast Community College is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician.
The purpose of this position is to perform routine and extensive range of work in the repair and general maintenance of college facilities, buildings and equipment under general supervision. This position provides assistance to other physical plant staff and performs all other duties as assigned. Willing to be available at off hours as needed for increased workloads and emergencies. Develop and maintain a good relationship with the campus community and students. Perform electrical and plumbing work related to refrigeration and temperature control equipment. Repair and replacement of existing electrical fixtures and completing repairs on minor equipment. Basic HVAC knowledge.
Education:
Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency. Willingness to be trained and aligns with the College's mission, vision and values
Experience:
A minimum of one year is required. Hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Skills:
Read and work from blueprints, shop drawings and schematics. Work with all types of refrigerants, gases, welding equipment, tools and test equipment. Make all necessary tests and calibration for installation, maintenance and repair of equipment. Must be able to work safely in varying temperature extremes since equipment is often located on roof tops and other unconditioned spaces. Safely work off ladders, scaffolding, platforms, and other types of lifts. Must be able to work independently. Must perform all work in a safe and professional manner. Must be familiar with electrical safety and basic electricity. Excellent organizational skills. Special Instructions to
