Duties include but are not limited to: Promote a "safety first" culture by active participation in safety training (skills and regulatory) and diligent use of Personal Protective Equipment "PPE" and safe work practices. Immediately bring attention to unsafe work practices or conditions to shop colleagues and report Exhibit strong work ethic, positive attitude, trustworthiness, honesty and attention to detail. Assembly of new unique, versatile, and reliable rotary kiln and dryer roller and riding ring resurfacing (grinding) machines for use by FLSmidth colleagues around the world. Maintain relationships with field colleagues and communicate machine defects or problems Assess machinery upon return from project site to accurately diagnose and repair issues. Coordinate with the shop Team Leader and Equipment co-ordinator to inventory the items and order parts as needed for the maintenance and new builds. Disassemble machines for rebuild, send frames for repainting, reassemble, and repair or replace damaged parts as required to return machines to like new condition Test machines as required to verify ready for use Keep an accurate log of all work performed, parts used, and complete all inspection and repair documentation Maintain and clean work areas, shop equipment, and tools to ensure they are always kept in a safe and usable condition Attends any required training classes, including but not limited to specialized training to develop skills Perform special assignments and additional tasks as assigned
Relationships and Roles:
Internal Cooperation Monitor and report progress of activities to management on a timely and consistent basis Able to effectively communicate with hourly or salaried personnel Has a desirable personal character that demonstrates to colleagues his/her commitment, professionalism and effective organizational skills and work habits External Cooperation Develop and maintain relationships with miscellaneous vendors for painting, machining, parts and/or hardware supply, and other needs Educational qualifications : GED/High School graduate. Mechanical discipline certification (ASME or equivalent years of experience is preferred)
Physical Demands:
Job requires regular sitting & standing• Occasional walking up 1 - 2 flights of stairs, walking and using hands to operate computers and comparable office equipment • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Repair Shop Facility:
The noise level in the shop work area is typically within acceptable acoustic levels. Occasional machinery and tool use may result in the use of hearing protection. The facility is well ventilated and well-lighted, and well-insulated and heated for wintry weather periods. Technician will frequently work with dirty or greasy parts and occasional awkward positions.
