Job Description

Creative Design is a fully licensed and insured design-build landscape firm serving New Jersey, specializing in pool, paver, and landscape installations, along with residential and commercial lawn care services. We are currently seeking a part-time Power Equipment Mechanic and Yard Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, demonstrated experience with small engines, and a firm commitment to safety and quality workmanship. A minimum of two years of relevant experience is preferred; however, we are willing to train a candidate who demonstrates strong potential.
Qualifications:
Experience servicing commercial landscaping equipment, including mowers, blowers, chainsaws, and compact utility equipment Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment Strong attention to detail, sound organizational skills, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced setting Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments under varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, dust, and noise Willingness to work overtime as business needs require Repair two-cycle equipment, including demo saws, chainsaws, blowers, and trimmers Repair and maintain lawn mowers and fertilizer-spreading equipment Maintain and repair four-cycle engines, such as those used in spray pumps and power washers Maintain diesel engines (training provided for candidates without prior experience) Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, blade sharpening, belt replacement, and equipment inspections Conduct thorough equipment inspections to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns Grease truck bodies, trailer hubs, Bobcat and Kubota skid steers, and small excavation equipment Inspect trucks for safety compliance, including trailer tires and lights, and replace trailer tires as needed Accurately document all maintenance and repair activities and maintain detailed service records Responsibilities Maintain bulk material piles Remove and dispose of bulk trash, such as pallets Operate a small front-end loader to maintain a clean and organized yard Perform general lot maintenance Repair gates and fencing Assist with organization and cleanup of inventory
Pay:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 30.0 per week
