Job Description

To maintain SNP complex which includes all buildings, portables and grounds areas. Will also do general maintenance of all district SNP vehicles that are housed at the complex. Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Schedules and performs maintenance of all grounds, buildings and portables. Maintains SNP complex buildings performing the following custodial tasks; mopping, sweeping floors, cleaning windows, cleaning restroom facilities, keeping restroom facilities stocked with needed supplies, taking out trash from all buildings. Follows proper safety procedures in the use of chemicals and equipment. Performs building security tasks to ensure safety of all personnel at complex; to include routine check of portables when not in use, checking that all entries and exit are accessible. Able to operate light equipment needed to complete projects on the grounds, buildings and portables of the complex. Checks SNP vehicles to insure proper care and operation. To include the checking of fluids on a regular basis, washing and vacuuming of all district SNP vehicles housed at the complex. Monitors and/or maintains all building equipment, such as cooling systems, boiler systems and septic systems. Performs minor plumbing repairs, such as: leaking faucets, plugged commodes or drains, etc. Performs minor electrical repairs, such as: replace light switches, fixtures, receptacles, reset breakers and overloads. Performs minor carpentry repairs such as: Assembling or repairing of tables, chairs, etc. Performs minor painting touch-ups such as: repainting, touch-ups, etc. Performs minor roof preventative maintenance such as: fixing minor leaks, replacing ceiling tiles, etc. Has good communication with SNP Equipment Techs so that any repairs which are beyond the General Techs abilities are communicated. Maintains the SNP complex grounds by doing the following: mowing, herbicide spraying minor pruning and strippin g. May assist SNP Equipment Techs in maintaining accurate inventory of all Student Nutrition Program equipment throughout the district sites. May assist SNP Equipment Techs in the moving of equipment to and from district sites. Performs other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED. Prefer experience of 5 years as building mechanic or any maintenance experience. Must have general knowledge of electrical, plumbing and general maintenance. Associates degree in related field preferred. Bilingual Preferred
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid driver's license Journeyman level certification and/or any combination of education and experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Able to read, write and communicate both verbally and written in English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Able to calculate and solve problems in basic arithmetic.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to make sound decisions that will allow the completion of all tasks efficiently and effectively.

They employee must frequently be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally the employee will lift/move up to 90 pounds such as furniture. The employee will sometimes push/pull items such as tables, lawn mower, etc. Specific vision abilities required for this job include, close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
