Operations and Maintenance Technician (Hobbs, NM) Zia Natural Gas Company is a local natural gas distribution company (gas utility). Zia currently serves approximately 39,000 customers in the state of New Mexico primarily in Colfax, Dona Ana, Lea, and Lincoln. An Operations and Maintenance Technician for Zia Natural Gas Company will be responsible for the following duties: Service Calls Emergency Response Leak Calls Hit Lines or Meters Other Abnormal Operating Conditions Line Locates Patrols, Surveys Cathodic Protection Atmospheric Corrosion Protection Maintain field facilities Meter Reading and Meter Maintenance Maintenance/Construction of gas pipe facilities Variety of other operations and maintenance related tasks as requested. Qualified candidates should have a H.S. Diploma or GED. Mechanical, plumbing, construction, or maintenance skills are preferred. Additional consideration may be given to applicants with backhoe, excavation, pipelining, or welding experience or candidates who have a CDL. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are beneficial but not required.
