Job Description
Marathon Petroleum seeks a Maintenance Mechanic to support Engineering, Maintenance & Asset Management within our Oil & Gas operations. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on rotating and stationary equipment, troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues, and support reliability and turnaround activities in a refinery environment. Working within a performance-driven, safety-focused culture, you'll follow strict safety and environmental procedures, collaborate with operations and engineering teams, and contribute to continuous improvement of equipment reliability and plant uptime. Responsibilities Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on refinery mechanical equipment Troubleshoot and repair rotating and stationary equipment to minimize downtime Support reliability, turnaround, and outage activities as assigned Interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment manuals for effective repairs Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory procedures and policies Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to resolve equipment issues Document work performed in the site CMMS and maintain accurate maintenance records Participate in continuous improvement and root cause analysis efforts Assist in installation, commissioning, and alignment of new equipment Maintain tools, work areas, and equipment in safe, orderly condition Required Skills Industrial mechanical maintenance Rotating equipment repair (pumps, compressors, turbines) Welding and basic fabrication Alignment and balancing of rotating machinery Hydraulic and pneumatic systems Reading P&IDs and mechanical drawings Basic industrial electrical and instrumentation familiarity Preventive and predictive maintenance (PM/Pd M) Use of
