Job Title:
Maintenance Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the hotel's facilities and equipment, ensuring a safe, functional, and inviting environment for our guests and staff. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and responding to repair requests promptly.
Key Responsibilities:
Preventive Maintenance:
Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on hotel equipment, systems, and facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Repairs:
Respond to and resolve maintenance and repair requests from guests and staff in a timely and efficient manner.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with equipment and systems, determining the best course of action for repairs.
Safety Compliance:
Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety standards and regulations. Identify and address potential safety hazards.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. Update maintenance logs and reports.
Inventory Management:
Monitor and manage maintenance supplies and equipment inventory. Order replacement parts and supplies as needed.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruptions to hotel operations.
Emergency Response:
Be available for on-call emergency maintenance as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Upkeep:
Ensure the hotel's exterior and interior spaces, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas, are well-maintained and in good working order.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance or engineering is a plus. Previous experience in a maintenance or engineering role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment. Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. Proficient in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance software. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and move around the hotel for extended periods. Lift and carry items up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings and at heights or in confined spaces.
