Maintenance Technician•Fallon, NV
General Purpose The Maintenance Technician ensures all equipment and machinery operate effectively, efficiently, and safely. This role requires strong proficiency in preventative maintenance, equipment overhauls, modification, fabrication, welding, and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting and repair. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of machine shop equipment along with excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills. Job Duties and Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on production, processing, and utility equipment while following all safety procedures.
Support installation and startup of new equipment.
Assist machine operators with training and troubleshooting to minimize equipment downtime.
Document all repairs and maintenance work accurately.
Foster teamwork consistent with company and plant Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
Attend required training, including but not limited to GMPs, HACCP, SQF, and Safety programs.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, including Lean, Kaizen, 5S, and Leader Standard Work initiatives.
Follow all DFA GMPs and work in compliance with corporate and regulatory food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.

Minimum RequirementsEducation & Experience
High School Diploma or GED required.
2 years of formal mechanical education or equivalent hands-on maintenance experience.
Licenses or certificates in electrical, welding, boiler, refrigeration, wastewater, or plumbing are a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to perform minor electrical work (e.g., changing pump motors, diagnosing motor control issues).
Knowledge of pneumatics, solenoid valves, and air cylinders.
Must supply and safely use standard maintenance tools.
Ability to complete minor projects from planning through installation (e.g., non-sanitary piping, drain lines, vacuum lines).
Ability to perform routine repairs safely and efficiently (e.g., rebuilding pumps, sanitary valves, samplers, packaging equipment, repairing leaks).
Ability to conduct preventative maintenance, identify abnormal conditions, and maintain accurate records.
Basic welding skills for repair and fabrication (MIG/TIG/Stick).
Ability to follow process control computer variables, read schematics, and diagnose system issues.
Ability to support other mechanics on more complex repairs.
Strong interpersonal skills to foster cooperation and effective communication.
Basic computer skills required.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must successfully complete a written maintenance test administered by the Maintenance Manager.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
