Job Summary Tholl Fence Company, established in 1912, is seeking motivated and detail-oriented custom Fence and Gate Fabricators and Installers to join two of our growing dynamic teams.

There are two positions available:

One position available is in our Automated Gate Department where you will be traveling to various jobsites around Northern Nevada and Northern California with our team. As a Fabricator in the Automated Gate Department, you will be responsible for learning and understanding the nuances of automated gate system requirements and planning, site layout, system installation, inspection, and repair. A Fabricator in the Automated Gate Department is required to interpret written proposals and plans, layout installations, excavate holes for posts and footings, pour concrete, set posts, hang gates, follow manufacture directions, mount gate operators/equipment, install custom fence material, repair fencing and gates, communicate well and work well will with others, and most importantly be creative and flexible with solutions. This role utilizes skills like but not limited to carpentry, concrete work, conduit manipulation, light wiring, mechanical understanding, welding, fabrication, painting, etc. The other position available is at our yard in Sparks, NV within our Fabrication Shop, this role is responsible for fabricating from scratch and repairing high-quality heavy-duty custom fences and gates of various sizes and shapes, requiring an organized, detail-oriented, creative, and imaginative individual who is able interpret written directions, understand drawings, and familiar with construction plans. Personal-responsibility and self-motivation is key in this fast-paced ever-changing environment with tight deadlines, high expectations, and a commitment to the highest quality finished product. Advertised pay is dependent on experience.

Duties Include:

Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans to accurately fabricate fences and gates according to specifications. Accurately cut, shape, assemble, and weld materials such as wood, steel, aluminum, and masonry using hand tools and power tools while adhering to safety protocols. Construct/install/repair fences, gates, posts, concrete footing elements, in the shop and on-site with precision and attention to detail. Handle construction materials safely, including heavy lifting by hand with others and/or with equipment. Ensure all installations comply with safety standards, building codes, and project timelines through diligent team and site management. Communicate effectively with everyone setting expectations, establish mutual understanding of the project, provide relevant updates on project progress, and ensure all SOPs are adhered to. Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials regularly while adhering to safety procedures during all phases of fabrication and installation.

General Qualifications:

Experience in welding, fabrication, and/or construction-related roles preferably with a focus on fencing and gates. Strong ability to read and understand drawings, construction details, technical drawings, manuals. Proficiency with all hand tools, light-medium power tools, familiarity with heavy hydraulic equipment preferred, familiarity with rigging and lifting equipment preferred. Proficiency with welding and fabrication tools/equipment - MIG welders, spool guns, gas tanks, grinders, bandsaws, various cutting torches, etc. Physical capability for heavy lifting, standing for extended periods outdoors in various weather conditions. Knowledge of fence installation techniques involving wood, metal, masonry or composite materials preferred. Understanding of safety protocols related to construction sites including power tool safety and proper handling of building materials. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients and team members.
