As a Maintenance Tech, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facility by performing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, buildings, and grounds. About the
Role:
As a Maintenance Tech at Riverside, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including: Making repairs on facility equipment and buildings Performing specialized tasks such as plumbing, painting, electrical, carpentry, and more Maintaining necessary logs and forms and recording required information Completing tasks as assigned by supervisors Building structures for resident use, such as benches and flower boxes Replacing and unclogging hair traps, plumbing fixtures, and electrical outlets Painting interior and exterior walls, and installing wallpaper Installing and checking batteries of smoke alarms Participating in preventive maintenance and recording necessary information
Requirements:
Preferably a high school graduate or equivalent Preferably two years' experience utilizing various hand tools and general engineering equipment Preferably two years' experience working with electrical, heating, plumbing, boilers, and air conditioning systems Ability to work with supervisors, co-workers, and facility staff Ability to follow through on oral and written instructions Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English Ability to use ladders, staging, or scaffolding devices as part of normal work routine Available for emergency work and on-call
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day, proper body mechanics required Must be able to observe, listen, and communicate effectively Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, support agencies, and outside agencies Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs and carry maintenance equipment
