Job Description
Job Overview We are looking for an Experienced Stair Installer to install custom interior stair and rail systems in residential homes throughout Long Island. This position requires real, hands-on stair installation experience. This is not an entry-level position and not a general carpentry, handyman, or rough framing role. The right candidate should already understand stair installation, field layout, accurate cutting and fitting, and working neatly in finished homes. Our work may include box stairs, winder stairs, circular / curved stairs, steel risers, mono stringers, custom rail systems, and other custom stair projects. We are looking for someone dependable, detail-oriented, professional on job sites, and capable of producing clean, accurate installation work. Responsibilities Install custom interior stair and rail systems in residential homes. Perform accurate field measuring, layout, cutting, fitting, and installation. Work on a range of stair types, including box stairs, winder stairs, circular / curved stairs, steel risers, mono stringers, and custom stair/rail projects. Read and work from drawings, measurements, field notes, and job instructions. Troubleshoot job-site conditions and make clean, professional adjustments as needed. Protect finished homes and maintain a clean, organized work area. Communicate clearly with the shop, office, coworkers, and customers when needed. Load, unload, carry, and handle stair materials safely. Use hand tools and power tools safely and accurately. Follow job-site safety practices and company procedures. Experience Prior stair installation experience is required. Experience with box stairs, winder stairs, circular / curved stairs, rail installation, steel risers, mono stringers, or custom residential stair work is strongly preferred. Must be able to read a tape measure accurately and make precise cuts. Must be comfortable working in occupied or finished residential homes. Reliable transportation required. Valid driver's license preferred. Must be dependable, accurate, and professional. Replies without stair installation experience will not be considered. Pay $28-$34 per hour, based on stair installation experience, skill level, reliability, and demonstrated ability.
