Position:
Maintenance Technician General Description:
The Maintenance Technician's main duties include routine plumbing, carpentry, masonry, electrical, HVAC and construction for all HRH owned properties. Hudson River Housing is looking for someone who demonstrates dedication, reliability, and is highly skilled in these trades.
Principal Duties:
1. Provide routine maintenance and repairs for all buildings, grounds and equipment as indicated above. 2. Responsible for basic service to maintenance equipment and work vehicle. This includes checking tire pressure, fluid levels, and cleanliness. 3. Expected to leave a job upon completion or at the end of a work day as "broom clean". 4. Proper housekeeping must be maintained in the workshop and storage areas. 5. Must be willing to acquire equipment and supplies from the store specific to what is needed. 6. Power tools and equipment must be locked and secured in designated storage areas when not in use. 7. Perform work assignments in accordance with all safety requirements. Protective Equipment must be worn as applicable. 8. Provide snow shoveling, plowing, sanding and salting for all HRH sites. On-call availability for emergency repairs and related situations, such as snow removal is required, which includes nights, weekends, and holidays. 9.
Administrative:
use digital maintenance apps (e.g. YardiOne) to track work orders, maintain logs, and manage supply inventory. 10. Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Education/Knowledge/Experience:
A minimum of 5 years proven experience in the building maintenance field is required; this includes plumbing, carpentry, masonry, HVAC and electrical. Must have a full understanding of basic construction and general small equipment repair skills.
Required Behaviors:
You are expected to be dependable and able to maintain an openness to a myriad of different tasks. Staff must maintain the ability to work independently but also able to function as part of a team. It is necessary to be detail oriented, able to follow directions and have a sense of pride in completed work. Every employee should demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to contribute to the team. All maintenance staff must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift at least 70 pounds, climb stairs while carrying objects, work in extreme temperatures outdoors and be able to climb a ladder.
