Job Description

The Town of Webster Parks and Recreation Department is seeing a part-time Maintenance Mechanic to join the Parks maintenance team. This role involves physically demanding work performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. This semi-skilled position supports routine maintenance and repair tasks across Town facilities. The Maintenance Mechanic assists with or performs work in various electrical, mechanical, and construction related areas. The employee reports directly to and works under the general supervision of a Maintenance Mechanic or other high level staff member. Does related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES
(Other related activities may be performed although not listed.) Assists in the performance the day-to-day activities necessary to ensure facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner, including all required preventative maintenance; Assists with install, maintain, repair, and rebuild of a wide variety of electrical, plumbing, masonry and HVAC fixtures; Builds, installs, maintains, and repair doors, stairs, walks, floors, desks, chairs, cabinets, shelves, tables, windows, and locks; Performs general building janitorial task when cleaners are unavailable; Sets up rooms and lodges for meetings and moves and arranges office equipment and furniture; Responsible for snow removal and salting of sidewalks; Responds to overnight/off-work hours facility needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus six (6) months of paid full-time or its part-time equivalent work experience in one (1) or more of the electrical, mechanical, or construction trades; OR, Graduation from a technical high school or trade school with a major in the electrical, mechanical or construction trades.
