Job Description
Midland Management LLC is seeking a Residential Maintenance Technician to support apartment communities across the Chicago area. In this hands-on role, you will diagnose and complete work orders, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC troubleshooting, and appliance repair. You'll perform unit turns, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs while ensuring safety and code compliance. Working closely with property managers and residents, you'll provide responsive, courteous service, keep accurate maintenance records, help maintain grounds and common areas, and contribute to a clean, well-kept, community-focused environment. Responsibilities Respond to and complete resident maintenance requests and work orders Diagnose and repair basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance issues Assist with HVAC troubleshooting and coordinate licensed service as needed Perform unit turns, inspections, and preventative maintenance tasks Ensure property, equipment, and systems meet safety and code standards Maintain common areas and grounds in clean, orderly condition Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours and emergency repairs Maintain maintenance records, inventory, and work order documentation Collaborate with property managers and leasing staff on repair priorities Provide courteous, professional communication with residents and vendors Required Skills Residential maintenance Plumbing repair Basic electrical repair Carpentry and drywall repair Appliance troubleshooting and repair HVAC troubleshooting Preventative maintenance Reading work orders and using maintenance software Use of hand and power tools Safety and code compliance
