PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate directly in the installation of new machinery and other mechanical equipment used in company operations. Participate in and guide others during the planning and installation process. Install and maintain machines, control panels, switchboards, junction boxes, switches and motors. Test circuits, diagnose readings and take corrective action to resolve problems. Discuss report readings with outside machine tool manufacturers to obtain their counsel and advise as needed. Work closely with Engineering Staff to coordinate procedures on changes to plant layout requiring the movement of machines and equipment controls. Provide input to achieve optimum results for equipment placement, cost, and time requirements to carry out changes. Diagnose electrical/mechanical-related trouble associated with automated machine tools. Observe machine operation and use diagnostic equipment to locate cause of malfunction. Consult with equipment vendors to verify problem. Use necessary hand and power tools to take appropriate action to replace components, make adjustments and recalibrate machinery to resolve issues and restore equipment to operating condition quickly and efficiently. Manage equipment maintenance manuals and service records. Observe and monitor the completion of outstanding work orders assigned to third party maintenance contractors. Maintain positive working relationships with service providers and provide coaching and feedback as needed to ensure their high performance. Work with Engineering Manager on contract renewals. Establish and maintain maintenance shop and spare parts inventory for machinery. Set up shop to include hand and bench tools and supplies needed to carry out machine maintenance programs. Assume accountability, for issuing purchase orders to maintain parts inventory at proper levels and implement systems and procedures for receiving and parts issuance. Participate in and sustain 6S activities. Work in a safe manner and follow safety policies. Make sure co-workers are working safely and following safety policies. Participate in kaizen events and sustain improvements made from those events. Perform related duties as assigned or directed.
MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge in welding, machining, machine building, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Knowledge of various computer skills (CMMS, Microsoft office skills, Outlook, Word, and Excel). Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with internal customers, service providers, supervisor, and fellow workers. Comprehensive ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical problems. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems related to PLC and electromechanical aspects of manufacturing equipment. Good analytical skills. Ability to properly use testing equipment including (electrical, mechanical, and fluid power). Broad knowledge of PLC 's and electrical principles, hydraulics, and pneumatics Occasionally working near hot equipment and / or materials. Push-pull, lift/carry 10 - 100 pounds.
