Maintenance Technician / General Maintenance Person Job Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the hotel's facilities, guest rooms, and equipment to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for guests and staff. This role requires experience in plumbing, HVAC systems, electrical repairs, general construction, and preventive maintenance. Key Responsibilities Repair and replace leaking or damaged faucets, toilets, sinks, and other plumbing fixtures. Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of air conditioning (AC) and heating units. Diagnose and repair minor electrical issues, including switches, outlets, lighting fixtures, and small appliances. Carry out preventive maintenance on hotel equipment and building systems. Complete minor construction and repair work, including drywall patching, painting, flooring, tiling, carpentry, and general renovations. Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and emergency repair calls. Inspect hotel facilities regularly and report major maintenance issues to management. Maintain the exterior and interior appearance of the property. Ensure compliance with hotel safety standards and local building regulations. Keep maintenance tools, equipment, and work areas clean, organized, and in good condition. Qualifications Previous experience in hotel maintenance, building maintenance, or a similar role. Knowledge of plumbing, HVAC systems, electrical repairs, carpentry, and general construction. Ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of maintenance issues independently. Basic understanding of safety procedures and maintenance best practices. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, bending, and standing for extended periods. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication skills and a customer-service-oriented attitude. Preferred Skills Experience working in hotels or hospitality. Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs. HVAC or maintenance-related certifications are an advantage but not required. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts when necessary.
Pay:
$12.00 - $15.00 per hour
