Job Description

JPOSITION OVERVIEW
The Fuel Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fuel dispensing equipment, underground fuel storage systems, tank monitoring equipment, and electronic payment systems. This role ensures fuel systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all environmental regulations and company standards. The Fuel Technician works primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions and may travel between locations as needed.
Essential Functions:
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on fuel dispensers, including hoses, nozzles, breakaways, filters, and electronic components.
  • Diagnose and repair fuel dispenser mechanical, electrical, and electronic system issues.
  • Inspect, maintain, and support underground fuel storage and delivery systems.
  • Monitor and maintain automatic tank gauge (ATG) systems and fuel inventory monitoring equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair fuel payment systems, including card readers, POS interfaces, and communication equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections on fueling equipment and related infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and company environmental regulations related to fuel storage and dispensing operations.
  • Assist with leak detection monitoring, environmental inspections, and compliance documentation.
  • Respond to emergency equipment failures and service calls as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and compliance requirements.
  • Communicate equipment issues and repair recommendations to management.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all safety procedures.
  • Operate company vehicles and tools safely and responsibly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • After designated training period, ability to be on call for after-hours emergency calls for a one week period on a rotating basis.
Required Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Preferred Requirements :
  • Experience maintaining or repairing fuel dispensing equipment.
  • Experience with underground fuel storage systems and tank monitoring equipment.
  • Knowledge of fuel system electronics, electrical troubleshooting, and payment systems.
  • Understanding of environmental compliance requirements related to petroleum storage and dispensing operations.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb.
  • Regularly lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Work around fuel, petroleum products, and mechanical equipment.
  • Work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to distinguish colors, read gauges, and identify equipment indicators.
  • Must be capable of speaking, reading, writing, and hearing
English Work Environment:
  • Primarily outdoor work environment.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, fuel vapors, and moving mechanical equipment.
  • Will travel between company locations and occasional after-hours or emergency response work.
Pay:
$21.00 - $22.00 per hour
