Job Description
The Job is a 2nd shift 3pm-11:30pm. Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic facilities team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of building systems and equipment to ensure a safe, functional, and efficient environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and plumbing skills, along with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues using schematics and technical manuals. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the upkeep of our facilities through proactive maintenance and responsive repairs, supporting the overall safety and operational excellence of our organization. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, electrical equipment, plumbing systems, and building interior components. Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues, including electrical equipment repair and electrical work, utilizing schematics and testing tools such as ohmmeters. Conduct welding, carpentry, painting, and general facilities repairs to maintain building integrity and appearance. Maintain facilities equipment including hand tools, maintenance painting supplies, and MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) materials. Repair and service plumbing systems, ensuring proper operation through maintenance, leak repairs, and system troubleshooting. Operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automated systems when applicable. Use technical schematics and manuals to diagnose problems accurately; document repairs performed. Lead or assist with building interior maintenance projects while ensuring safety standards are met. Support customer service initiatives by responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff or tenants. Assist in developing maintenance schedules to optimize facilities performance. Qualifications Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role with knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical work, plumbing, HVAC system repair, and building interior maintenance. Proficiency with hand tools, schematics interpretation, electrical equipment repair, and the use of testing devices such as ohmmeters. Strong understanding of HVAC systems including troubleshooting and repair. Experience with welding techniques and carpentry tasks related to facility upkeep. Familiarity with maintenance painting techniques and residential painting skills is preferred. Knowledge of MRO practices for maintaining facilities equipment efficiently. Ability to read technical schematics accurately; experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is advantageous. Excellent communication skills in English; capable of providing clear instructions or technical explanations. Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Basic understanding of plumbing system maintenance and repair procedures.
