Installation/Service Technician $22-$28/hr Job Description This role focuses on performing mechanical repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance on dock equipment, warehouse racking, and conveyor systems. You apply strong mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently at customer warehouse locations. Responsibilities Perform mechanical repairs and installations on dock equipment, warehouse racking, and conveyor systems at customer sites. Troubleshoot mechanically related issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions. Work with mechanical components such as bearings, pulleys, gears, and gearboxes to repair or replace parts as needed. Carry out preventative maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Read and interpret blueprints or technical drawings to guide repairs and installations. Use welding and basic fabrication techniques when required for repair or installation work. Document work performed, including repairs, parts used, and maintenance activities. Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working in warehouse environments and around industrial equipment. Communicate clearly with customers and team members about equipment status, required repairs, and maintenance recommendations. Travel to various warehouse locations to perform on-site service and support. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience in a mechanical maintenance role. At least 1 year of experience troubleshooting mechanically related issues. Hands-on experience working with bearings, pulleys, gears, and gearboxes. Ability to perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on industrial equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues independently. Basic electrical understanding related to industrial equipment service. Ability to read and interpret blueprints or technical drawings. Experience using tools and equipment common to mechanical maintenance and repair. Commitment to safe work practices in industrial and warehouse environments. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working specifically on dock equipment, conveyor systems, or warehouse racking is a plus. Background in industrial service or field service work is beneficial. Welding skills and the ability to perform basic fabrication are advantageous. Experience performing both corrective and preventive maintenance in an industrial setting. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments. Effective communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams. Ability to work independently at customer sites with minimal supervision.
