Cleaner - Data Center Construction Site Job Description This role focuses on providing final cleaning services for a large data center construction project. You ensure all areas, including server racks and facility floors, meet strict cleanliness and safety standards before handover. The position involves working in a commercial and industrial construction environment and may require working at heights using lifts. Responsibilities Perform final cleaning of the data center facility, ensuring all areas meet high cleanliness standards before project completion. Wipe down and detail clean server racks and related equipment surfaces. Sweep, mop, and dust floors, walls, and other surfaces throughout the facility. Use appropriate cleaning products and tools safely and effectively in a commercial and industrial construction environment. Operate scissor lifts or boom lifts as needed to clean elevated areas and surfaces. Work comfortably and safely at heights while following all site safety protocols. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper storage of cleaning supplies and equipment. Follow all site-specific safety guidelines, including use of required personal protective equipment (PPE). Collaborate with site supervisors and team members to prioritize cleaning tasks and meet project deadlines. Report any safety hazards, equipment issues, or damage to the appropriate onsite contact. Essential Skills Prior cleaning experience, ideally in a commercial or industrial setting. Experience working on commercial or industrial construction sites. Ability to perform sweeping, mopping, dusting, and detailed cleaning tasks for extended periods. Comfort working at heights and performing cleaning duties from elevated positions. Experience operating scissor lifts or boom lifts in a work environment. Current or prior lift certification for scissor lifts or boom lifts, or ability to obtain certification as required. Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Ability to follow safety procedures and wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots and other provided equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality cleaning results. Additional Skills & Qualifications Janitorial or sanitation experience in any setting. Experience working in customer-facing roles that involved customer interaction. Experience using buffers or other specialized cleaning equipment. Ability to work effectively as part of a team on a busy construction site. Strong communication skills to coordinate tasks with supervisors and coworkers. Reliability and punctuality for a consistent Monday through Friday schedule. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based on a commercial and industrial construction site for a data center. The standard schedule runs from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, offering daytime hours and a consistent workweek. You work indoors on a construction site that may include unfinished areas, active trades, and elevated work platforms. The position requires wearing jeans and steel-toe boots, and all additional personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided. You may use scissor lifts, boom lifts, buffers, and other cleaning equipment as part of your daily tasks, and you operate within a safety-focused environment with established procedures and protocols. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plain City, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
