Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of equipment and systems within our manufacturing environment. Your expertise will ensure operational efficiency, safety, and continuous production flow by performing routine maintenance tasks and responding swiftly to equipment issues. Position Summary CERCO, Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support the operation, repair, and preventative maintenance of industrial ceramic manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This position requires hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment that includes legacy, aging, and obsolete machinery. The ideal candidate must be safety-focused, dependable, and capable of working independently in a demanding industrial setting. Position Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial manufacturing equipment. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation. Proficiency in basic mathematics, including: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to follow written procedures, work instructions, and verbal direction.
Ability to work safely in:
Dusty manufacturing environments High-temperature conditions during summer months Cold conditions during winter months Ability to lift: 55-60 lbs. regularly Up to 100 lbs. occasionally Team-oriented attitude with strong safety awareness and accountability. Willingness to support equipment and systems that may be outdated, heavily utilized, or no longer supported by OEM manufacturers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Equipment Troubleshooting & Repair Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment failures. Diagnose machine malfunctions through inspection, testing, observation, and equipment operation analysis. Listen for abnormal machine sounds and identify operational irregularities. Dismantle defective equipment and install repaired or replacement components. Repair and maintain aging and obsolete industrial machinery critical to plant operations. Preventative Maintenance Perform scheduled preventative maintenance activities on manufacturing equipment and facility systems. Conduct routine greasing, oiling, inspections, and machine checks. Maintain preventative maintenance records and submit maintenance work orders for identified repair needs. Assist in improving and sustaining preventative maintenance programs and equipment reliability initiatives. Electrical & Mechanical Systems Install, troubleshoot, and repair: Electrical wiring and components Transformers Motors Controls and related equipment Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including: Gauges Valves Pressure regulators Piping systems Perform mechanical alignments, adjustments, and machine rebuilds as necessary. Fabrication & Facility Maintenance Operate welding and cutting equipment to fabricate or repair components and structures. Repair and maintain building structures, utilities, and facility infrastructure. Assist with machine modifications, retrofits, and process improvement projects. General Responsibilities Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Work collaboratively with supervisors, operators, and production personnel to minimize downtime and maintain production flow. Perform additional duties and support other manufacturing departments as assigned by supervision. Work Environment This position is performed in an industrial ceramic manufacturing facility with exposure to: Dust and airborne particulates Heat, cold, noise, and vibration Heavy machinery and moving mechanical equipment Older and obsolete manufacturing equipment requiring hands-on troubleshooting and creative problem-solving Preferred Qualifications Industrial manufacturing maintenance experience preferred. Welding and fabrication experience preferred. Experience with PLC troubleshooting is a plus. Experience supporting legacy or obsolete equipment in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
Pay:
$20.71 - $30.96 per hour
