A Building and General Maintenance Technician performs building maintenance and appliance repairs for an apartment complex, housing division, residential center or business, as directed by a property manager.
$24 to $27/hr, based on experience Job Description A manufacturing company is seeking a Maintenance Technician who will perform routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on building, mechanical equipment, utility systems and other company owned equipment. This is a first shift position and you will start between 6 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
Job Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot equipment issues to determine air, hydraulic, electronic, and mechanical solutions Perform needed repairs or maintenance in accordance with blueprints, manuals, building codes or other accepted quality work practices Develop and perform preventative maintenance of machines and equipment to prevent future and reoccurring issues Perform minor repair of all buildings and equipment Obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts, and order parts as needed Complete projects assigned, complete daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures Mentor and train other employees on intermediate preventative maintenance tasks Assure all departments comply with all written health and safety regulations and procedures Provide maintenance and safety records to supervisor when requested Perform job rotations during scheduled workday depending on production needs
Job Requirements Qualifications:
Must have a High School Diploma or GED Must have a good working knowledge in repairing electrical and plumbing with strong mechanical aptitude Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions Must be able to troubleshoot effectively when working with pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, and mechanical equipment Tow Motor certification and basic computer skills is required Set daily priorities, accomplish tasks despite interruptions, and work with minimum supervision Must have the ability to climb ladders and work effectively at heights of 10 to15 feet Must be able to pay high attention to detail, follow precise instructions, and perform a variety of tasks simultaneously or in rapid succession Establish and maintain effective harmonious, cooperative, and productive working relationships with other employees, contractors, suppliers, etc. Must be comfortable standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, constantly lift or move up to 15 pounds, frequently lift or move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills Must have a solid work history with no attendance issues Flexible hours with some weekend, evening, and holiday work are needed Only candidates that can pass a background check and drug screen will be considered .
