A Building and General Maintenance Technician performs building maintenance and appliance repairs for an apartment complex, housing division, residential center or business, as directed by a property manager.
Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and other equipment issues. Work with AC/DC electrical circuits and controls. Assist with PLC troubleshooting (non-programming level). Perform equipment setups, lubrication, cleaning, and routine maintenance tasks. Operate equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts when needed.
Qualifications:
2+ years of maintenance experience preferred. Experience with 3-phase and low-voltage electrical systems. Knowledge of welding, fabrication, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, and rotating equipment. Familiarity with photo eyes, proximity switches, and precision measuring tools. Basic plumbing experience (PVC, copper, and black iron pipe) is a plus. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.
Work Environment:
Food manufacturing facility following strict GMP and food safety standards. Physically active role requiring standing, bending, reaching, lifting, and working around machinery. Safety shoes are required, including during the interview, as a facility tour is part of the process.
