Industrial Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift) — Dayton, OH About the Opportunity We're partnering with a global, family-owned leader in sustainable packaging manufacturing to find a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician for their second shift. Our client produces innovative, customized, recycled packaging for some of the world's most recognizable consumer brands, and places a strong emphasis on employee wellbeing, work-life balance, professional growth, and sustainability.
Schedule Training:
first couple of weeks on days, Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm After training: 2nd shift on a 12-hour, 2-2-3 rotating schedule, 6:00pm-6:00am Compensation Up to $37.00/hr, depending on experience $1.50/hr shift differential for night shift What You'll Do Equipment Installation & Preventive Maintenance Install and set up specialized manufacturing equipment Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure optimal functionality and extend equipment lifespan Make minor modifications and adjustments to machinery to enhance performance and meet production needs Predictive Maintenance Use predictive maintenance methods such as condition monitoring and diagnostic tools to catch potential issues before they cause downtime Apply technical expertise to assess equipment health, analyze data trends, and plan maintenance accordingly Troubleshooting & Repairs Diagnose technical problems and malfunctions in molding machines using a systematic, root-cause approach Collaborate with technical experts and apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to resolve complex issues Carry out repairs independently and with guidance to quickly restore functionality and minimize production interruptions Facility Maintenance Support Contribute to general facility maintenance beyond equipment-specific duties Help maintain a safe, organized work environment by addressing facility-related issues in shared spaces Partner with the facilities team to keep the production environment running smoothly What Makes You a Great Fit High school diploma or equivalent Ability to perform basic-skilled maintenance activities sufficient to handle the duties above A 2-year technical degree is a plus, but equivalent hands-on industry experience is equally valued Skills & Knowledge Industrial maintenance safety Ability to read basic blueprints and schematics Familiarity with power transmission systems and industrial controls Basic understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics Experience with programmable controllers Occupational math for measurements and calculations Strong problem-solving and team collaboration Physical Requirements Regularly stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms; occasionally climb or balance Frequently use hands to handle or feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear Occasionally sit Regularly lift/move up to 10 lbs, frequently up to 30 lbs, and occasionally more than 50 lbs Close vision required Benefits Medical, dental, and vision coverage Health and wellness program 401(k) with strong company match Short-term, long-term, and life insurance (employer-paid) Education assistance / tuition reimbursement Child care benefits and dependent care cost savings program Paid vacation and paid holidays Recognition programs and promotional opportunities
