Job Title:
Maintenance Technician - $32-36/hr Job Description Maintenance Technicians focus on maintaining the upkeep of industrial equipment, including conveyors, automation systems, robotics, and facility infrastructure. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities. Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on assigned conveyors, automation systems, robotics, and ancillary equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. Conduct routine troubleshooting of out-of-service equipment, identify and correct issues, and act as an escalation point for lower-level technicians as needed. Record all maintenance issues for each line in the maintenance log, ensuring accurate and complete documentation. Maintain accurate operating logs for fire pumps, generators, HVAC equipment, and other facility systems that are tested on a routine basis. Perform root cause analysis of major downtime events, identify underlying issues, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Perform facility and building project work as assigned, including light bulb and ballast replacement, door repairs, furniture installation, ceiling tile replacement, carpentry duties, plumbing repairs, and maintaining operation logs. Assemble and test equipment to verify correct operation and production performance, making adjustments as needed. Examine defects and analyze causes of spoilage, implement corrective actions where possible, and verify that those actions effectively eliminate the problems. Essential Skills Intermediate industrial maintenance experience. Hands-on experience in technical school will also be considered. Strong troubleshooting aptitude across electrical, mechanical, and control systems. Electrical knowledge, including working with 3-phase systems. Mechanical skills, including assembly, adjustment, and repair of industrial equipment. Experience with pneumatics, including troubleshooting and repair of pneumatic systems. PLC troubleshooting experience sufficient to diagnose and resolve basic control issues. Experience performing maintenance and repair on forklifts or similar industrial vehicles. Additional Skills & Qualifications Technical school education in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, or a related field. Experience working as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Comfort working with conveyors, forklifts, and robotics systems. Familiarity with facility maintenance tasks such as basic carpentry, plumbing repairs, and general building upkeep. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is a very clean industrial facility that operates with conveyors, automation systems, robotics, generators, HVAC equipment, and other building systems. You will regularly use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and ticketing tools to plan, track, and document maintenance activities. The role involves hands-on work with electrical systems, 3-phase power, mechanical components, pneumatics, PLC-controlled equipment, and forklifts, as well as general facility maintenance tasks such as lighting, doors, furniture, ceiling tiles, carpentry, and plumbing. You can expect a setting that emphasizes safety, organization, and equipment reliability, with an expectation of appropriate industrial attire and adherence to site-specific safety and operating procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $36.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
