This position combines graphic design with hands-on print production. The person in this role will create graphics for printed and digital signage, operate sign-production equipment, assemble finished signs and promotional materials, and prepare completed projects for shipment to Sutherlands stores and other affiliated entities. This is a 100% on-site position with a Monday-Friday schedule. Responsibilities Create graphics for printed and digital signage using Adobe software on a Windows PC Prepare production-ready artwork based on established layouts, dimensions, brand standards, and project specifications Produce full-color printed graphics and computer-cut vinyl lettering Apply vinyl lettering and printed graphics to predetermined substrates and sign materials Prepare substrates by measuring, cutting, cleaning, painting, laminating, or performing other necessary production steps Weed and prepare computer-cut vinyl graphics Laminate and mount printed materials Assemble, package, and prepare signs and promotional materials for shipment Inspect artwork and completed products for accuracy, quality, spelling, dimensions, and overall appearance Monitor production supplies and report materials that need to be reordered Perform occasional sign deliveries or installations Follow company policies, safety procedures, and brand standards Assist with other sign-production and departmental projects as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field, or two years of relevant professional experience Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop Strong attention to detail, particularly when reviewing spelling, measurements, pricing, and production specifications Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to follow established designs, instructions, and production procedures Ability to work independently while also accepting direction and feedback Strong organizational and time-management skills Basic math skills, including working with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and measurements Willingness to learn new equipment, materials, and production methods Physical Requirements This is an active production position.
Candidates must be able to:
Stand and work on their feet for extended periods Occasionally lift and load rolls of vinyl or other materials weighing up to 50 pounds Bend, reach, and lean over waist-high production tables Perform repeated hand and arm movements while applying vinyl and assembling signs Safely operate basic hand tools and light power equipment Assist with loading, unloading, packaging, and moving sign materials Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is: Comfortable performing both creative and production work Able to manage several projects at once Willing to take direction and make revisions Capable of working independently Interested in learning sign-making, printing, finishing, and installation techniques This position is best suited for someone who enjoys seeing a project through from initial design to finished physical product.
