Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technician Shawnee, OK 74801 $15.50 an hour - Full-time $15.50 an hour -

Full-time Responsibilities:

• Maintain a full-time position with 40 hours a week, and consistently be at work on time.
• Secures building and occupants by maintaining alarm and fire protection devices.
• Maintains lighting by installing light bulbs and ballasts; repairing electrical wiring and fixtures.
• Maintains building climate by trouble-shooting heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.
• Keeps equipment operational, systems and building ready for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules, maintains maintenance records, follows policies and procedures, completes repairs and installs replacement parts, and reports needed changes.
• Managing all vendor contracts; plumbing, electricians, contractors, third party services
• Maintain an inventory of all tools and equipment.
• Notify supervisor of all major repairs needed and obtain bids from contractors for supervisor's review/approval/denial.
• Maintains building accessibility and appearance by picking up litter and removing ice and snow from walkways and parking lot.
• Paints and mows the lawn as well as cleaning the surrounding landscape.
• Maintains the facility plumbing including all water fixtures and sprinklers.
• Haul files and boxes, moves furniture, sets up furnishings, prepare rooms for meetings, assemble public announcement and audio-visual equipment following manufacturer's operating and care guidelines, and repairs and installs replacement parts to assure equipment is in working order when needed.
• Identify and correct hazardous property conditions.
• Must be able to utilize the Work Order Maintenance system and complete work orders.
• Ensure vehicles are maintained, oil changes, filled with gas, tags are up to date.
• Maintain and update facility policy and procedures according to HSPS and OSHA laws.
• Follow and ensure DHS and Federal Head Start performance standards.
• Perform all other duties as assigned
• Attend required trainings (in/out of state) to enhance knowledge of our program operations, federal mandates, and other pertinent information required to perform in the risk management capacity.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must be able to step, bend, climb, crawl, and reach in all directions with hands and arms.
• Must have general knowledge of machine and electrical hardware.
• Must be able to tolerate various climates and temperatures, including outside weather conditions or indoor climate-controlled environments
• Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods of time in order to properly perform the assigned job duties.
• Must be able to perform basic computer functions to review, input and complete daily work assignments.
• Must be able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of departmental rules, regulations, and policies.
• Must be able to follow all instructions, written and oral.
• Must handle various cleaning solvents, chemicals, etc.

Pay:

$15.50 per hour
