Utility Worker

Job Title:

Utility Worker Job Description This position involves preparing products for daytime use, monitoring the sifting and filling of storage tanks in the Bagging Department, and assisting the Furnace Operator with tasks in the Grinding Department. The role also includes daily plant housekeeping, requiring the use of a dust particulate respirator during air wand blowdown of the plant site. Responsibilities Prepare product for dayshift use and monitor storage tanks in the Bagging Department. Assist Furnace Operator with Grinding Department tasks. Conduct daily plant housekeeping. Dress glass pile and load cullet into the plant shredder system. Remove contamination from glass pile to prevent equipment plug-up and quality issues, reporting significant issues to management or lead operator. Operate equipment safely and efficiently. Possess knowledge of raw material processing flow and troubleshoot problems as they occur. Operate forklift in a safe manner. Monitor and coordinate bulk dust operations. Perform minor maintenance and greasing operations on plant equipment. Monitor dryer operations and gas rates to ensure efficient process operation. Essential Skills Forklift operation General labor Ability to troubleshoot problems in raw material processing Ability to perform minor maintenance on plant equipment Additional Skills & Qualifications Must not wear contact lenses. Prescription Safety Glasses or protective glasses over glasses are required. Must wear steel-toe shoes, a hardhat, hearing protection, gloves, and Hi-Viz long sleeve shirts or jackets year-round. Must be medically certifiable to wear a respirator. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Why Work Here?
