Job Description

Job Description We are seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production and facility equipment in a food manufacturing environment. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to work on a wide range of industrial systems without turning every breakdown into a three-act tragedy. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems involving multiple voltages, including low-voltage controls and higher-voltage production equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical issues on processing and packaging equipment. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on: Boilers and steam-related systems Air compressors and compressed air systems Pumps and motors Vacuum pumps and vacuum systems Ammonia refrigeration equipment and associated systems Food processing and packaging machinery Assist with equipment installations, modifications, rebuilds, and improvement projects. Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals. Support troubleshooting of sensors, switches, motors, drives, valves, and related components. Complete maintenance work orders and document repairs accurately. Follow all plant safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, food safety practices, and GMP standards. Work closely with production, sanitation, and other departments to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Minimum of 3+ years in maintenance or mechanic roles Experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or food processing environment. Strong troubleshooting ability with electrical systems across different voltages.
Working knowledge of:
Hydraulics Pneumatics Pumps and motors Air compressors Boilers or steam systems Industrial production equipment Ability to use hand tools, power tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively. Ability to work independently, prioritize repairs, and respond to urgent equipment issues. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems . Experience in maintaining vacuum pumps and vacuum systems . Experience with food processing and packaging equipment . Knowledge of conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, and industrial drive systems. Familiarity with VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, and automation components. Experience in freeze-drying equipment maintenance is a strong plus. Welding, fabrication, or machining experience is a plus. Work Environment Industrial food manufacturing facility. May involve work in production areas, mechanical rooms, rooftops, refrigerated areas, and utility spaces. Must be able to respond to equipment breakdowns and work safely around moving machinery, electrical systems, hot surfaces, and pressurized systems. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work in tight spaces as needed. Ability to lift and carry tools, parts, and equipment consistent with maintenance work. Ability to work at heights or on ladders when required.
Pay:
$28.00 - $32.00 per hour
